THE AMERICAN DREAMER (1971), fascinating look at Dennis Hopper and his stoned philosophies, as he edits THE LAST MOVIE at his Taos ranch; full of sex, drugs, and campfire folk; a turning point for Hopper, as he was persona non grata in Hollywood for over a decade after this; with trailers, vintage commercials, and fun clips. (2:00, C) THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE (1971), I loved this '70s-dripping scare film co-directed by Walon Green (writer of THE WILD BUNCH and SORCERER), with Lawrence Pressman (SHAFT, AMERICAN PIE) as the admittedly phony scientist (he's not one, but he plays one on TV) Dr. Hellstrom, who warns that man's time on Earth is limited, and insects will take over; full of some amazing time-lapse and micro-photography; great to scare your bug-a-phobic wife or girlfriend with; includes tons of vintage commercials, trailers, and clips. (feature: 1:28, B) THE MYSTERIOUS MONSTERS (1975), another alternately cheesy and scary '70s Bigfoot documentary, this one hosted by Peter Graves and brought to you by those fine folks at Sunn Classics; directed by Robert Guenette (THE AMAZING WORLD OF PSYCHIC PHENOMENA, THE MAN WHO SAW TOMORROW); with the trailer, vintage commercials, sleazy previews, and drive-in clips. (feature: 1:34, B) 1% OUTLAW MOTORCYCLE GANGS (1992), truly amazing police training video detailing all the nasty stuff you wondered about concerning the Hells Angels, Pagans, etc. Find out who the big gangs are, their organization, illegal activities, and what those patches really mean (yuck!). After the feature we've added around 15 biker-movie trailers! A perfect party tape. (feature: 1:27, C; with trailers totals two full hours!) OUTLAW MOTORCYCLES (1966), very obscure and early biker documentary from the late Titus Moody; consists mostly of rally and road footage; Moody introduces the pic in 1990s footage; comes with tons of trailers and clips.
